2010
Beautiful hike through the Malaysian part of Borneo. We visited the longhouses of Sarawak, the caves of Mulu and climbed the famous Pinnacles. In Saba we came to rest at the beautiful island of Pulau Tiga. After that we climbed the summit of the Kinabalu (4100 m / 13400 ft). In northeast Saba we visited (among others) Danum Valley.
2007
In 2007 we went to see China. Big, lots of people, enough to see. Because we don't like cross country holidays, we missed a few highligts. So no famous Great Wall or Terracotta army. What we did see; the famous Panda resort in Chengdu, the small streets of Lijiang and the beautiful gates of Dali. We gazed at the golden Songzanlin Temple in Shangri-La, and wanderd the green rice fields of Longsheng. At last we visited the beautiful mountain landscape around Yuangshuo and (of course) the Forbidden City in Beijing.
2005
Hotel trip for twenty days in south India. We vistited Chennai (Madras), Mysore and the palace of the Maharadja and the Blue Hills. After Fort Cochin (Kochi), we went to lake Periyar and took some pictures of the wildlife. In Madurai we visited the large Meenakshi temple. After a much to short stay in Trichy we went to the Tsunamy plagued east coast of India, where tourism is only slowly recovering from the disaster. Here we took beautiful pictures of the sea temples of Mamallapuram.
1993
Pictures of a long 4 week trip in Indonesia. We spent four weeks in Indonesia. At first we started on the isle of Flores, where we climbed the Keli Mutu volcano to see the sun rise above the island. We camped a couple of days on Komodo to watch the Komodo Dragon and flying foxes. After that we climbed the Rinjani on the island of Lombok. We spent our last days at Bali.
2018
Japan was a very pleasant journey. We traveled by train and bus and visited Tokyo and Matsumoto. In the Japanese alps the local bus brought us to the little mountain villages Magome and Shirakawa. Via Kanazawa with its famous Kenroku-en garden we went by train to Kyoto, Nara and Himeji. VIa Hiroshima we brought a visit to Miyajima island.
2015
In 2015 we made a combined trip to Thailand and Laos. We entered Thailand in the north, and via the Mekong we vistied Luang Prabang. We visited an elephant camp and made a short jungle trekking. Finally we visited Vang Vieng and Vientiane.
2012
Beautiful trip trough south and central Myanmar (formerly Burma). Among others we visited the famous Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon and the golden rock of Kyaiktiyo. On the Inle lake we saw the leg rowers fishing. The people there live and work on the lake. In the old and former capital Mandalay we visited countless temples and pagodas. A special mention for me was the Thanboddhay Paya temple complex, which housed 528,357 Buddha statues. And finally we made a trip to the temples and pagodas of old Bagan, and made a boat trip on the Irrawaddy river.
2001
Trekking in Nepal (Ganesh Himal). The area we visited in Nepal wasn't on one of the so called Coca Cola routes, but the much more quieter Ganesh Himal. After a visit to Kathmandu we drove to the little village Trisula Bajar at an altitude of 1640 ft (500m). For about two weeks we slowly ascended to 15.000 feet (approx 4500m). During the tour we passed several small villages including Singgang, the lead and zinc mines of Somdang and the beautiful woodcarved houses of Gatlang. In Kathmandu we visited Durbar Square.
2014
In 2014 we went to Nepal and visited the beautiful villages Phu and Nar, which are located in a valley just beside the crowded Annapurna circuit. Unfortunately we where hit by the infamous snowstorm that struck the Annapurna circuit on October the 13th and 14th. We survived this snowstorm unscathed, but hope to never encounter this again.

2000
Tour in north Vietnam. We visited the colorful minorities in Son La, Sa Pa and Lai Chau. On the following pages you can find pictures of Black Hmong, Black Dao, Flower Hmong and White Hmong. We spent the last days of our holiday at Cat Ba, An island in Ha Long bay.
